Burns Of London Steer Ref: burnssteer

NOW COMES WITH BURNS FITTED HARD FLIGHT CASE!

The Steer was originally developed in 1979, only 40 were made and the Guitar was never reviewed at that time. A few years back, Burns were badgered from fans all over the world about re-issuing this little beauty, but they did not have any of the original spec available.

The story goes that Billy Bragg, who had an original still, lent Burns his guitar and hey presto! The re-issue was on!

The Burns Steer is unique in its construction; a solid Bass wood body is routed out on both sides of the pickup cavity to not only make the Guitar light but give it a more airy and earthy sound, fitted with a solid top and fitted with a Burns split humbucking pickup at the bridge which can be made single coil by the flick of a switch, and a high powered single coil at the neck.

With two body cavities, the semi-hollow Steer delivers a wide range of awesome tones. Its beefy sound comes from a Burns split humbucking pickup at the bridge and its mellow neck pick up, designed especially for this instrument Looks great and sounds great. One of our best selling Burns guitar ever. The neck is made from Hardrock maple and is 25 1/2 inch scale length.

Furthermore, we are also now including a FREE Burns wide padded shoulder strap and a Burns limited edition branded cleaning cloth with every Burns Steer purchased from our website.

Back in the early 1960s, Jim Burns' guitars were a significant part of the home-grown UK guitar market, alongside names like Vox and Watkins. The company produced monsters like the Bison (launched in 1961 and soon to be re-released) with its four pickups (later cut down to three), plus the Split Sonic, Vista Sonic, and the Marvin, designed in 1964 and named after Hank when The Shadows became endorsees for Burns. We are offering a selection of the Burns instruments and accessories here.
