Minolta Autopak 600-X Collectable Camera

Minolta Autopak 600-X Collectable Camera

Share

This very unusual and pretty rare camera dates back from around the early 1970s. It uses 126 cartridge films, which may be getting a little hard to come by now-so we consider this a collectors peice rather than a day to day camera to use for photography.

This Minolta Autopak has a cracking good lens on it, the Minolta ROKKOR 38mm f2.8 semi wide angle, a zone manual focus system on the side and manual wind with a magic-cube flash port on top.It has a bright line viewfinder , which is a little dusty now, and runs off a PX-640 battery-not supplied.

If you click on the image above, you can see a photo of the rear of the Autopak, which is made in Japan!

Here are some Reviews of the Marquee Bass, taken from Harmony Central.com...

"The sound is the reason I bought this bass. On the rear pick-up is gives a lovely honking Jazz bass sound and sounded easily as good as a genuine Fender Jazz bass, and was much quieter, not exhibiting all the strange buzzes and hums that the Fender did. But it is way more versatile than a Jazz bass in that the pickup combinations can give all sorts of sounds. I particularly like the front pickup only, which gives a damn good up right type sound (these are generally the two sounds I use)."

"I have played this bass through my Peavey practice amp and DI'd it into a few PAs. It gives a lovely, retro 60s tone which ranges from warm, humbucker-like growl to nasal twang, thanks to the frankly wonderous Burns electronics. It has a good amount of sustain and the Volume pot actually scales properly, unlike many other Korean basses, making violin-technic lots of fun. The pickups are wired opposite facing so they cancel hum when two or three are on at once, meaning they don't buzz as much as they might. The only problem are slightly piercing notes around the 12-14 frets on the middle strings when played through my practice amp, but this is probably the fault of my amp. Overall, i've played bass 4 times the price that make less diverse noises, and this bass is about as good on any one setting as any bass i've played. I play a lot of classic rock through this bass and it nails that boomy sixties noise right on!"

Burns Info

Back in the early 1960s, Jim Burns' guitars were a significant part of the home-grown UK guitar market, alongside names like Vox and Watkins. The company produced monsters like the Bison (launched in 1961 and soon to be re-released) with its four pickups (later cut down to three), plus the Split Sonic, Vista Sonic, and the Marvin, designed in 1964 and named after Hank when The Shadows became endorsees for Burns. We are offering a selection of the Burns instruments and accessories here.
