Burns Of London Double Six Guitar
Burns Of London Double Six Guitar Ref: burnsdouble6

NEW-Now comes with Burns fitted hard flight case!

Up to now, the Double Six was almost impossible to find a case for. But we have now been able to secure a small amount of stock to come supplied with a beautiful, Burns dedicated fitted flight case, for the ultimate in protection in transit and storage.

Furthermore, we are also now including a FREE Burns wide padded shoulder strap and a Burns limited edition branded cleaning cloth with every Double Six purchased from our website.

Previous customers who have bought this instrument have compared this favourably with the Rickenbacker equivalent, in terms of the playability and sound produced, but obviously not in terms of price!

It has a very distinctive appearance, and is finished in either the instantly recognisable greenor red burst. First introduced in 1963, the Double Six Guitar is by far the most user friendly 12 string guitar on the market today. The 55mm nut allows ample room for the strings to be separated for easier fingering. The strings are fitted through a Gotoh bridge, specially designed to achieve perfect intonation. It has seven different pickup selections.

  • Basswood body
  • Bolt on hardrock maple neck
  • Burns original headstock
  • Classic polyester finish
  • Rosewood fingerboard
  • Scale length of 25.5"
  • Burns gear-o-matic truss rod
  • Gotoh bridge unit
  • 21 frets
  • Chrome hardware
  • Burns deluxe machine heads
  • Three Burns deluxe Trisonic pickups
  • Five way pickup switch
  • Push/pull pickup selector
  • One master volume
  • Two tone controls

We have limited stock of both the GREENBURST and REDBURST finishes of this classic 12 string Burns guitar.

Back in the early 1960s, Jim Burns' guitars were a significant part of the home-grown UK guitar market, alongside names like Vox and Watkins. The company produced monsters like the Bison (launched in 1961 and soon to be re-released) with its four pickups (later cut down to three), plus the Split Sonic, Vista Sonic, and the Marvin, designed in 1964 and named after Hank when The Shadows became endorsees for Burns. We are offering a selection of the Burns instruments and accessories here.
