First introduced in 1963, the Double Six Guitar is by far the most user friendly 12 string guitar on the market today. The 55mm nut allows ample room for the strings to be separated for easier fingering. The strings are fitted through a Gotoh bridge, specially designed to achieve perfect intonation. Back in the early 1960s, Jim Burns' guitars were a significant part of the home-grown UK guitar market, alongside names like Vox and Watkins. The company produced monsters like the Bison (launched in 1961 and soon to be re-released) with its four pickups (later cut down to three), plus the Split Sonic, Vista Sonic, and the Marvin, designed in 1964 and named after Hank when The Shadows became endorsees for Burns.
