It looks like the standard Strat style guitar, but Burns have a great British history, and were heavily involved in the 1960's UK music explosion. Many popular groups were Burns users and fans, most notably Hank Marvin and The Shadows. As mentioned, the Cobra has a very Stratocaster look to it-double cutaway, three single coil pick ups, five ay selector and knife edge tremolo system with whammy arm.But the difference is marked-the pick ups are the super zingy Burns Tri-Sonics, the five is supplemented by a push -pull tone control which gives a total of nine different pick up arrangements, and well, these look way cooler than a Strat.-Knife edge tremolo system-Tri-Sonic pickups-Three ply scratch plates-Rosewood fingerboard-25.5" scale-5 position selector switch-Neck and middle pickup tone control-Bridge tone and push/pull pick up control-Front mounted jack socketThere is no doubt the sub £200 electric guitar market is competitive, and there are some good instruments around in this range, but we feel that the Burns Cobra is as good as any of them-Squier, Pacifica, Epiphones included. There is a touch of class about it-like the Burns embossed machine heads. A great to play guitar, that looks a little different and stands out from the usual crowd of instruments.ShareLarge Image of a White Cobra HERE!
