Burns Of London Bison Bass
Burns Of London Bison Bass Ref: burnsbisonbass

Inspired by the original Bison guitar, the popular body shape is carved by hand from the highest quality timber available. The full 33½ inch scale gives a boost to the bass frequencies which are generally considered to have a more robust depth than those of any other bass guitar.

Three matched frequency Rez-o-matic bass pickups give the widest possible range of tonal colours with bass and contra-bass in sharp contrast with treble ranging up to edgy Wild Dog.

Two master-switches cover frequency selection. The Bison Bass is fitted with the unique Rez-o-tube tailpiece as standard. This Bass was a favourite among session musicians in the Sixties due to its long scale and wide variety on big tones.

With all the same features as the original, the new Bison Bass is now used by many modern bands for live work and recording.

It delivers great distinctive vintage tone not heard on its American counterparts.

As with most Burns Bisons, demand often exceeds supply, so please-if you are interested, order ASAP as they run out quickly!

Back in the early 1960s, Jim Burns' guitars were a significant part of the home-grown UK guitar market, alongside names like Vox and Watkins. The company produced monsters like the Bison (launched in 1961 and soon to be re-released) with its four pickups (later cut down to three), plus the Split Sonic, Vista Sonic, and the Marvin, designed in 1964 and named after Hank when The Shadows became endorsees for Burns. We are offering a selection of the Burns instruments and accessories here.
