Burns Of London Bison 62 Guitar
Burns Of London Bison 62 Guitar Ref: burnsbison
NEW-Now comes with Burns fitted hard flight case!

If you have found this page by searching for Burns Bison Bass then you will know what this is all about. But there have been major improvements since last time...

But first-The instantly recognisable Bison, with it's aggressive pointed horns, scorpion like and distinctive is like no other guitar around.

Now supplied with LUXURY Burns Fitted PLUSH lined flight case.

The pick up arrangements are a marvel. You can select 4 options, treble, bass, wild dog and split sound. The treble and bass are obviously the neck or bridge pick ups, the wild dog is apparently an out of phase setting, and the Split sound is I understand where the coil under the treble three strings on the bridge pickup was paired with the coil under the three bass strings in the neck pickup. Whatever it is, it gives a lot of scope for a wide range of tones from this beast of a bass.

It comes fitted with the famous Burns TriSonic pick ups, which give a great tonal range, from sumptuous to raw and edgey.

The white Bison shown here is white bodied with a new black scratch plate, chrome hardware, and a luxurious plush lined Burns hard flight case, which is Taylor made for the Bison. I must say there is no stinting with the case, it's worth £100 on its own in my opinion.

-Alder body with high gloss polyester finish
-Hard rock maple neck with bound rosewood fingerboard
-Original 1961 design flat headstock
-Three Burns "Tri-Sonic®" pickups
-Master volume and tone controls
-Guitar features Burns "Knife-edge" tremolo system

Also supplied with the Bison are a comfortable wide shoulder strap, a cleaning cloth, tool set and paperwork/documents.

Back in the early 1960s, Jim Burns' guitars were a significant part of the home-grown UK guitar market, alongside names like Vox and Watkins. The company produced monsters like the Bison (launched in 1961 and soon to be re-released) with its four pickups (later cut down to three), plus the Split Sonic, Vista Sonic, and the Marvin, designed in 1964 and named after Hank when The Shadows became endorsees for Burns. We are offering a selection of the Burns instruments and accessories here.
