With this unit you can receive digital audio broadcast (DAB) programmes. DAB uses digital, not analogue signals, which gives near CD quality audio with virtually no interference at all. For me, one of the most annoying sounds in the world is a slightly off tune radio, and with this that bugbear becomes a thing of the past. Furthermore, if your a fan of MW stations, such as radio 5 Live, you will probably notice that when it goes dark the reception gets really poor on analogue sets. Just so you know,5 Live can now be found on DAB broadcasts...
Along with top quality audio, DAB can also deliver additional audio channels and text information. The text often can be the name of the song playing, news headlines and sports results as the come in. Marvellous. In the future, computer data and images are also possible.
DAB broadcasts cover about 80% of the UK now.
Still like to listen to your "old radio" stations, that maybe are not yet available in digital?
No problem, as this TEAC also has a traditional, FM radio tuner built in also. At the press of a single button, you can switch back to FM.
Digial radio stations do not need any fees or subscriptions by the way, (unlike the TV channels) so the only cost is a one of purchase of the tuner. Just think of all that free music, drama, comedy and sport you can listen to in perfect clarity!

All you do is connect the tuner to an amplifier, and it has traditional phono outputs, and also two digital outputs for those of you keen on connectivity.
What will I get?
You get a brand new, UK spec TEAC Tuner, a pair of phono leads to connect to your amp., a good quality aerial to get you going.
The remote is not supplied, but is available direct from TEAC. (It uses a system remote that wil operate other similar Teac products.)
Finishes in a 7 mm brushed silver front, it has dimensions of 215x93x305mm, and weighs 2.3 kilos.
