TEAC AG-980 Multi Room Stereo HiFi Amplifier/Receiver
This is a very high quality, amazingly versatile integrated stereo amplifier. You can connect all the usual audio hi-fi sources to this, such as CD player, cassette deck, DVD player, minidisc and even turntable (it has it's own built in pre amp and dedicated phono stage ready for record decks to plug straight in).
As this is a receiver, this means it is an amplifier and radio tuner all in one, so it just needs speakers attaching to be heard and ready to use. It has FM, with RDS functions and MW too.
Teac have been producing high end audio hi-fi equipment for some time now, and have built up a reputation for building really good sounding and well made, reliable products.
However, what this little beauty does extra is really impressive. The TEAC AG-980 dual zone receiver can have up to 4 PAIRS of speakers attached and used at once. So that's potentially 8 (yes Eight) individual speakers running safely and smoothly from one box. Which really opens up the potential for multi room use, be it at home, or in a commercial environment.
MULTI ZONE?
You can actually have Main Zone speakers (which is two pairs) playing one source (e.g. a CD player)
Whilst Sub zone speakers plays another (e.g. Radio).
Or any other combination of sources.
But is gets even better still!
The volume output from the two zones can be independently controlled too, so one room can be quiet whilst the other can be on full volume! Fantastic flexibility!
So dad can listen to the football commentary on the radio in one room, with the volume on low whilst reading the paper, while upstairs the kids can listen to a CD paying through the same amp however loud they want (or are aloud too..)
Or if it is being used in a commercial environment, such as a pub or bar, again the Sky box audio can be played in one room while a CD runs in another so everyone gets what they want.
And each of the 4 pairs of speakers can be combined in any way, so all, or one, two or three pairs can be running at once, in any combination.
Truly flexible !!
If you are greedy, there is also a line level pre-out to, which means you can send it to another amp for yet more room amplification.
So if you are looking for a top sounding, well made reliable amplifier for home, commercial use then this really has to be the sensible choice. For commercial customers, how about going for this and the matching Teac 5 CD multi disc cd player too?
