Straight out of the box it was 100% spot on on sounding tip top. Before having a go, we all stood round it and pointed it like hill-billies seeing an aeroplane for the first time. But, after the initial shock of the appearance, we all fell in love with the Jet Sonic. It was designed by Claudio Pagelli, in conjunction with the Burns boys. Pagelli is a maverick luthier, he was in charge of maintenance of guitars of numerous musicians and the service point for Gibson, Fender, Ovation and various others at a leading Swiss repair shop. He now works mainly freelance for all the big boys, whilst still producing his own bizarre instruments to unbelievable standards. The main technical aspects are as follows. Two split coil Burns Jet Sonic humbucking pick ups, with a push pull coil tap mech on the volume and tone control. The bridge is a technical miracle! It's separated into six individual, identical pieces consisting of channels along which each individual saddle slides for intonation adjustment. Each channel narrows at the back end to trap the ball-end of the string. Each saddle carries an individual brass insert that protrudes to carry actual string contact. Each saddle is adjustable for height, and is held in place, when intonation is set, by a third screw. This third allen key is inserted diagonally to prevent the string itself from impeding access to the allen screw. This means you can adjust intonation without the need to detune. Comes with a unique Pagelli signed leather strap, Burns official crocodile style hard case, quick lock strap holders, all the tools for adjusting the bridge and neck too. £599.99
