Like our Burns Of London guitars, the Danelectro range has been established way back in time but, but these guys are like the US version of the Burns! Founded in around 1947 in the USA, they originally supplied amps and other bits for retailers such as Sears and Montgomery Ward. Within a few years they went onto produce guitars, and the highly distinctive styling makes them recognisable straight away.

It features a Masonite on Laminated Wood body, very strong but still light to carry for a long period on stage, a maple bolt on neck with rosewood fingerboard, a 25 inch scale length with 21 frets and two single coil Alnico trademark Lipstick pickups. So called as the originals were supposed to have been assembled and stuffed in to lip stick tubes, hence the appearance now. Having tried these PUPs myself on this Pro56 , I can say these pack a punch for sure! Very impressive.

The pick up selector is 3 way, and the minimalist appearance is completed with a single black rotary volume and tone control.

The sound is very 60s reminiscent, as is the look but the quality of build and sound is of a modern high tech musical instrument
